A superb sight is the changing of the guards which happens every day at 11.30 am. The new guards march to the Palace from Wellington Barracks and the old guard ceremoniously hands over the responsibility, switching sentries and returning to the barracks. This takes place in front court of Buckingham Palace and lasts about 45 minutes.
The Palace was opened for the first time for visitors in 1993, although it is still the official London residence of the Royal Family. You can always tell if the Queen is in residence, look at the flagpole on top of the Palace, if the flag is flying then the Queen is at the palace.
Buckingham Palace is one of the most sought after destinations by London tourists and the people who appreciate the beautiful artworks located in the Palace.
